Another nice way of doing this (as mentioned long ago by someone here -
Scott Gavenhorst (Sp?) - I think), that avoids all of the
voltage-control stuff is to make a simple pot / cap / buffer portamento
circuit and switch it with the normal (unportamento'ed) CV using some
kind of CMOS analog switch like a CD4053B, and driving the switch from
one of your gate outputs - this is nice and simple and still allows you
to have portamento on or off for different notes.
