Matrix-1000 hum

Here I go again..
Those of you that have used a Matrix-1000 should be familiar with the HUGE amount of hum it produces.
Unless it's only my unit acting weird.. Any workarounds for this?
Thought of removing the transformer from the unit and place it in a separate box outside and look at
the rectifier and see if there's anything to do to enchance it's preformance.
Also, when I turn my unit off, it overloads the mixer with hum.. Smells like a defect, or are they all like that?
