Yes, the open side is to the left or right, and not at the top. I
believe that the water makes the dust particles stick to the walls of
the box, and that would include both the dust in the air and on the
inside surfaces of the box, I guess. Actually the idea is not mine, I
think I read it at the alt.hardware.something.

After developing the photo resist and rinsing it, I was thinking about
adhering some tape (thick brown, heavy-duty stuff) to the sides and
backside, to protect it for etching. It withstands FeCl, but I don't
know about the gold-eating stuff you mentioned earlier. Guess I'll just
have to test it!
