hey all,

I was searching about the net today and found some info on mellotrons
and how they work... supposedly one problem was the tape could become
misaligned and cause probs....

So I started thinking, what other types of magnetic recording media are
there???

Well I know I must be crazy but I was wondering if anyone had ever
modified a disk drive, or hard drive to record analog???

I mean, why not?? If this is possible, couldn't you use a computer to
control start points and stop points?? And while you were at it, maybe
modify the drive to run in both directions for reverse playback and
record and playback at different speeds??

I know I would love to own a 100% analog sampler, wouldn't anyone else??

Of course, if you used 3.5" disk drives you'd need several..but really,
is this possible???

                            Just a thought, Jon
