......well , you have the edge on me there....admittedly the VCO made
from the LM13700 is nice enough but buggered if i can make a balanced
multiplier from one without excessive bleedthrough and for that matter 
noise (which when modulated by a LFO is VERY obtrusive)
I'd gladly pay a couple bucks not have all those extra components, too...
