Diagnostic comedy with SY99/77

Hi..
Here's an amusing thing to try, which I discovered today on a Yamaha SY99
synth (it should also work on the SY77):
Get into the diagnostics menu, by holding down VOICE, BANK D and '8' (not
keypad 8, but the one below Bank D).
(Careful in here; you can erase EVERYTHING if you're not careful!)
Choose MANUAL SETUP by pressing the '+1' key.
You get a list of things to try, from checking all the LEDs (fun) to
checking the keys and the screen, the outputs etc. Use the cursor keys to
go down to options 11 and 12. These calibrate the two modulation wheels.
BUT, the SY machines are made in Japan. So, 'modulation' appears on the
screen as 'moduration'! Quite amusing.....:)
Maybe I should get out more....
