Syncing LFOs (and test message)

Hi!
Anyone got any ideas or suggestions concerning do's and don'ts
when building and/or using synced LFOs? Circuits anyone?
I have a couple of XR2209 chips and intend to build Craig
Andertons VC LFO from an old Polyphony issue (April '83) but
it would be useful to know if syncing is useful/possible
with common-garden LFOs.
