Hi, DIY-ers!
While thumbing through some old downloads from Midwest Analog Products, I
came upon this fact sheet for the RC1556 high-speed op-amp:

RC1456 and RC1556 Low Noise, Fast Op-Amps
When paging through books and magazines from the golden age of analog
synthesizers, you will often find reference to the RC1456 and RC1556 op-amps,
manufactured by Raytheon. We don't know much about these, but are told they
are low noise in nature. According to the Electronotes Preferred Circuit
Collection, they will operate about five times faster than a 741, making them
ideal for higher frequency circuits. Craig Anderton mentions the RC1556 as a
good choice for his Treble Booster project, which appeared in Chapter 14 of
EPFM (Electronic Projects for Musicians - Dave). Great for "exact
replacement" repairs of older equipment, they should also be excellent
wherever low noise, high frequency pre-amplification is required. Best of
all, both are pin-compatible with the ubiquitous 741. These parts are very
hard to find now, so stock up while the going is good!

BTW, if ANYONE knows where I might be able to find an SSM 2031
High-Frequency VCO/Clock chip (8-pin DIP), I would be V-E-R-Y Grateful! I've
been hoping to find one or two for YEARS now, even calling old SSM suppliers,
without luck. If you have any lying around, Please...
let me shove some electrons through them, and see if my old Top Octave
Generator (Mostek MK 50240
Top Octave Divider) keyboards, and maybe an old analog delay line clock, can
FINALLY be modulated!
Your Kindness shall be Rewarded! THANKS In Advance!
Happy Synthing!
