Soundblasters ARE NOT MIDI INTERFACES.

Soundcard MIDI interfaces don't seem to support everything... I
especially have trouble with SYSEX, slowed notes and stuff... the
interface can be a problem, too... one I had before caused paused notes
and stuff... I got a simple Hosa interface, and it works pretty good...
but the soundcard (Turtle Beach Tropez) only controls my X5 keyboard
now... all the rest is controlled by a Key interface, which works great.
(:
On a similar note, has anyone had any experience with MOTU interfaces? I
was thinking of getting one so I can do live shows without a computer
(I'm getting two MMT-8s)...
Sorry for the non-DIY posts... but I've had terrible luck trying to
learn DIYing... basically soldering is messing me up every time, seems
like I can't solder ICs well without running them solder into pins and
stuff... luckily I've been practicing on $5 kits and not $400 ASM-1s,
but still... I don't know whether it's the simple equipment (cheap
solder iron), the lack of a way to desolder well, or what...
