Soundblasters ARE NOT MIDI INTERFACES.

What kind of a joke is this? I have had my own little mishaps with
Soundmangler MIDI.. Basically, its not midi at all.. I dont think that MOST
sound card midi is true midi at all! I think that the true midi bandwidth
and protocol isnt supported fully. When i first got a PC, i could NEVER
understand why the damn sequences would be slowing down, then speeding up
all the time and some parts seemed a little slow... Low and behold, it was
the soundcard! I tried a basic midi card, Soundquest single in/out card for
$50 bux, and Voila, NO PROB! I think a midi instrument has to be VERY
tolerant of faulty mistimed info coming out of the soundcard, or it just
wont work.. I think with some soundcards it has to deal with the virtual
IRQ crap they got going, and with others its the PNP deal screws up, esp
under win95...

Along similiar lines, does anyone know about a Parallel Port card that uses
PCI?? The one on my Monkeyboard (motherboard) fried up real nice and
tenderlike.. I have a Parallel Port interface, and i cant do midi at all w/o
a parallel port...
