opamp substitution question

This is not a 'good' part number. Old Signetics parts are NExxxV (V means mini-DIP). A NE556V is a dual 555 timer, in a 14 pin package and a 558 is a quad timer. A 356 is an op amp.

Subject: opamp substitution question

Anybody know a substitute for the N5556V?

I'm assuming it is an opamp, but can find little data.

It is circa 1970 (in a Buchla musicbox).

Thank you very much (and I promise I will never ask what XLR stands for
again! ;-)
