A problem with Yamaha Cs-15

  So.. I'm sending a letter to this list for the first time, but have   read and 
enjoyed the letters others have been writing.

  I'm buying a CS-15 which is a bit broke. Those of you who are   familiar with 
CS-15's internal organs, could you tell me what is the 
4cm x .4cm x .6cm black box with three contacts labeled ground, N   and L ? It's 
located in the mains-cable side of the synth.

  I have been suggested, that it is some kind of filter or something,   but I'd 
like to sure. 

  Another question: Where can I get a new one, or what kind of a part   can I 
use instead?

  Yet another question: Is this part absolutely necessary, does   skipping it 
cause problems, and what kind of problems?
