Minimog modulation

On the Mini the modwheel pulls down the oscillator 3 signal, shorting
it to ground at minimum mod level. But (I've seen this on 3 Minis)
only a slight residual resistance (1 ohm or so) in the pot gives an
audible oscillator modulation.
Was there ever a mod for this? 
(I have a "original" mod for reducing pitch-wheel instability by
adding a deadband with two diodes)
