Standard assignment :
Pin 1 : start/stop, stop = 0 V, start = 5 V
Pin 2 : Ground
Pin 3 : clock, 5 V pulses, 24 per quarter note

I looked into the schematics of the TR-808 and this uses pin 4 and 5 as well,
don't know about other machines :
Pin 4 : Reset/start
Pin 5 : Fill-in
There is a switch on the 808 and the 606 to switch Pin 3 and 5 
to input or output.
The 707 has two DIN sockets, 1 for in, 1 for out.
