My 2 cents worth:
1) The "Preferred..." collection is MANDATORY. All synth design between Moog and the DX-7 resides
in this book. Plus I get $100 for every copy he sells (CAUTION: wry humor flag set using Microsoft Class
Library call SET_THE STUPID_CONTROL_BIT_PLEASE(VOID)).
2) If you are SERIOUS about DIY, then the most important things to own are:
a) Weller temperature controlled soldering iron (see Tutorial #2 @ www.why.net/users/paults)
b) The whole Electronotes (because I get a MemoryMoog for each one sold)
Ooopppssss!!

For those of you who don't have a copy of Bernie Hutchins' Electronotes
Preferred Circuits and Builder's Collection, I found an order form in the
Midwest Analog Products URL, under "Electronotes Info." (Where else?) Their
address is: www.prairie.lakes.com/~map. It sells for $25 US plus shipping,
direct from the author. Reprints of Electronotes are also listed, and the
ENTIRE collection can be had for $265 US (!). The order form has ALL the
information.
Cheers!
