Panel Sizes - results so far

Ken,

Thank you for the info on panel sizes.  Your recommendations are quite 
logical.  Vertical panels have benefits, but I still feel that, for a 
totally DIY system, rack mount modules are preferable.  Rack rails are 
easy to find at reasonable cost, and one can then move modules from one 
place to another without stripping wood.  Also, most audio equipment and 
processors (vocoders, etc) come in rack panels.  To avoid hanging patch 
cords, one need only put the knobs on one side and the jacks on the 
other.  You can build a very tall rack or have two columns of panels 
with all the jacks on the inside of the system (ie. the left will be a 
mirror image of the right).  If a standard for modules sizes is 
contemplated, I vote for rack panel sizes (1U, 2U, 3U, etc.).
