list problems, archive

Well, it looks like I've been booted off this list for the second time in
less than a month.  I hope I haven't missed anything important.  WHy does
this keep happening?

I tried checking the archive to see what I missed, but messages are not
kept in chronological order, but rather in alphabetical order according to
subject.  IS there any way that this can be changed?
