Got the Wurlie now - what a wonderful instrument!
It is pretty well in tune, and the electronics are not dead at all - there is
only a lot of hum and the signal is distorted.
Nothing that should not be fixable. Found a crack in a pcb for a start, with
a broken gnd connection, fixed this, not much effect, will be looking for
other things of that kind.
A toroidal Xformer is a *must*, as there is mechanical hum as well.
Maybe I can use a standard one, and get the +150V from a diode/capacitor
cascade ...
Guess what the greatest surprise was when I opened it up: It already *has*
its preamp located on the pickup !! (No FET though)
It turned out to be a Model 200A, and they changed this from 200 to 200A.
Still has +150V, but maybe I can lower this if I use a FET, as you suggested.
They changed the Tremolo circuit as well; instead of the diode, there is now
a Vactrol photocoupler.
Thanks again for all the great tips!
JH.
