Digisound VCDO

Dear all,

I wish to point out that the digisound VCDO is a waste of
a CEM3340..
Now, before I get flamed, the VCDO sounds fantastic, but why
waste a 3340 on it? I have a circuit that takes the square wave
from the VCO I use (genes ASM, modified) and drives the counter
directly, the VCO has a switch on which adds 6v to the input of
the Logconverter, therefore shovein it up 6 octaves, the VCO
withstands within reason (ok it has problems at the very high end)
but for most commonly used audio range Genes VCO copes ok.
What this means is that you dont have go and pull apart your
favourite SCI synth to have a VCDO.
What's more, Im sure that if you fed 6v into the aux CV in of
most VCO's the VCO would run quite happily at 6 octaves up and
run this module easily.

I hope to have a circuit diagram on my web page soon, and a
PCB for it in an edition of modulus soon.

I also added to the VCO, SYNC in, Step input for bank aswell as
wave select, and dual 7 segment displays insted of LED's.

   TTFN

   Paul
