i believe are pin compatible. As for the 8031's, look around, i didnt
see them in any of my catalogs anymore, but a lot of the pic chips
are very similiar in the way they are proggd. i would be a little leery
before i based a design on the 8031, only cuz there is much better
stuff out that is really inexpensive...
