This design has started to solidify in my mind and on paper. I've
carefully analyzed all the risk aspects of the circuit and I think I can
get a nice 10 chip design (or thereabouts). I'm gonna use 5V 7400 HCT
logic with CD4051s and a couple of opamps. The sequencer engine components
are nothing compared to the attachments needed (18 pots and LEDs, about 8
toggle switches, and a few jacks). Here are the features I plan to have: 1
ch/16 stage or 2 ch/8 stage operation selectable, continuous loop/single
run triggered selectable, sequence resets with trigger, variable length
sequence selection, output level control, external/internal clock
selectable, and internal clock synced to trigger.

My goal is to design and build one for myself. I'd be happy to share the
design when I get it finalized (I get sidetracked easily). As for building
and selling, well, I prefer wirewrap construction, so if you don't mind
that and you make it worth my while, I can build 'em and sell 'em too.
