Star-Trek Monitors?

Hello everybody ...

does anyone know if there is an economical way to create star-trek
federation-alike monitors (like the ones in StarTrek The next generation
on the Enterprise) which could be connected to a PIC or MCS-51
processor?

they have to be touch-sensitive ...
