Due to the odd-ball nature of my emailing system I don't know now who 
wrote this but someone did.....

..granted, and sorry....you're right. But as a three terminal it's 
fine, I don't bother with anything else for that configuration now, 
and I can normally get a better range of pots in linear than in 
log....
