COMPRESSOR

It's me again.
I'm also looking for up-to date schematics of a good dynamic range
compressor. I already have a good and simple project based on the old 
XR 2216 multifunction generator, but this IC is not available any more.
I know PAIA produces a kit based on a better and more recent chip named 
SSM2120, but this is not available as well.
Any suggestions out there?  I know NATIONAL produces a chip named LH0094,
that could possibly be used for companding applications, and I think
this one is more easy to find in stores... Anyone has a circuit based on
it?
