I just finished retrofitting my Oberheim Matrix-12 with a 61 key AGO
keyboard used in the K2000. I purchased this keyboard from Kurzweil for
$165, a great price for a nice feeling velocity keyboard. I used this
because the original Oberheim keyboard was junk and I like the feel of the
K2000 keyboard. Also the encoding scheme was the same so it was easy to
retrofit. The keyboard comes with a pressure sensor built in.
Although its not the ideal unit for mono analog systems all you need on
your computer is two parallel 8 bit ports and a DAC, or you could rework
the pcb for a 100 ohm resistor ladder. It looks to me that this would take
about 3-4 hours.
Keith.
