Potentiometers: what do you suggest??

The pots I buy from Maplin in the UK also fit this description - both
log and linear pots have a @-ish symbol on the back. Some also have
ALPHA stamped on them, and some occasionally have a sticker on them with
the same.
I've found these pots to be fine normally, but every so often I get one
that's very scratch, or too stiff, but they're so cheap I usually just
bin it and stick in a new one.
