Screenprinting intermediate report

Hi List, 
Well the first proper Modulus VCO panels have been done and I'm very 
happy. They're not perfect, but the legibility is excellent, getting 
the regisrtation correct isn't too hard, and once the correct 
posiotion has been noted it is possible to print off panels very 
quickly. I only did three this afternoon, mostly as a proof of 
concept, because I need to change the artwork but it all went fairly 
well.....
The good points, well... it's legible, and three minutes after your 
first one comes out, your second one does, then the third etc....as 
soon as you need three of anything it is easier than transfers. The 
Acrylic/Lascaux mix clings fairly well to the fine-texture surface, 
and it looks like it'll wear well too. 
The bad points....due to soome bizarreness of the software I use it 
takes nearly an hour for the print-out to go through the printer, and 
it needs at least four runs through to get the artwork dense 
enough....It takes approx 2 1/2 hours to set up to make the first 
print, and even after four runs through it still has some slight 
banding... I have to share a printroom with a lot of arty people who 
speak slowly in plain English when they're explaining things, even 
when I ask the to talk quickly in acronym filled jargon, none of them 
have grasped what I'm doing yet as far as I'm aware, though they are 
greatful that I've fixed trwo of the three dead darkroom lights they 
had, and will be fixing the other one next week, along with upgrading 
various computers and I've promised to have a look at smoeones toaster 
(I think, they were rather vague)....

An engineer in an artshop is like a unicylcle in a desert, someone 
will find a use for it, but it probably won't be what it was meant 
for.........
