Ribbon controllers

Hi!

Do any of you people out there know where I can get a ribbon controller,
of the style found on the JP-8000 et al?

Am I right in believing this is a capasitance-measuring device, as opposed
to the old resistance-based controllers? I know you had to push your
finger down on the old type of controller, but the JP-8000 only needs a
feather-light touch, as far as I can tell.
