Well, there's stuff like the Event Darla 8-in, 8-out card appearing,
and if they were willing to supply programming details (apparently a
legal requirement in the EU!) then a PC based true real-time system
would not be terribly hard to create. The problem I do see with this
is that an audio card will have caps to decouple the output which
would prevent it's use for DC (i.e. CV) signals? An additional CV i/o
card would deal with that though.
