never got anything to work.....gave up in the summer of 1965 after trying to
make a multiplier from a 6BE6......

there is no doubt that Mr Barbour knows what he is doing, and I must thank
him for sharing his knowledge......perhaps he will inspire a whole
generation of valve diy-synth people!

One type of tube based music synthesis that I would like to know more about
is that used in "The Forbidden Planet". acording to something I read years
ago, many of the sounds were made by incorrectly biassed valves that
oscillated, ran red hot and died...these little tortured screams were
captured on tape and manipulated by the usual slice'n'dice methods.....does
anyone have any details of this circutry?
