I don't see the spring reverb as a problem, in so far as they are still
readily - though not in Australia cheaply - available, eg as spares for
guitar amps. They are suprisingly fragile, and good luck fixing them. I once
opened a reverb unit and it had a sticker saying "made by beautiful women in
Wisconsin" - I am not making this up!
