Great 1000 3,5mm jack's.
Now, i have to contribute to the hum's and ahh's about sockets
I have for almost 6 years now using a patch bay with 32,PCB mounted
3.5mm
jacks for my mixing desk and i haven't had any problems with cracked
solderings
or any other type of problems that some people have reported due the use
of 3,5mm.
Also i use 3.5 mm in my modular MAS system and i think therse no reason
at all to
have any fear about 3.5 mm jack's from CLIFF at least. (English or
Australian company!)
Remember people that I talking about sockets from the manufacturer named
"CLIFF"
those sockets look exactly like 1/4 jack's only shrinked down in size.
Now, those jacks from CLIFF are rugged black plastic and chromed nut.
and i like them wery much because the price/performance/size/ etc.
And of the wery nice feeling of movement in and out ....hmm... ??
Ouch,, that sounded to be some sex thing,, sorry :-)
Ofcourse there are some Japanese crap "Walkman" size jacks that people
should
be aware of.
Now, there are problems with 3,5mm, that's the Japanese 3,5mm male
plug,,,
The tip on those have a allmost a tear drop/cone shape that make
them problematic to use with European and American socket's
The dont snap in to well.
This is the fact for Doepfer's modular system, hopefully they change
their
patch cords to a non japanese Size plug.
