Formant like?

The movement is very important for good synthesis.
I designed a three-filter formantic banc with my students.
It is controlled by a preset selector (made of 4051 CMOS switches),
the speed of the transients is controlled thanks to an FSR (Force
Sensing Resistor).
Thus, with 4 fingers, you can select a preset from 8 (3 bit encoded)
and control the transient speed.

I used 3 2-pole filters, I think that 4-pole filters are better for this kind
of sound. YUu also may care about the resonance quality...

If you want to obtain voice like sounds, use a sawtooth or assymetrical triangle
with a strong vibrato.
