MS50 VCF Up and Running

The Gods are smiling on me this weekend!
This morning I finished my second SSM2040 based filter, a design from
Electronotes #99. It has simultaneous LP, HP, BP, Double Notch (AP?), and
BP/N outputs. How does it sound? Like a big fucking electronic Gorilla,
that's how! It's totally raw and fat sounding with serious low end and
screaming resonance.
Not only that, but I pulled out an aborted attempt at building a Korg MS50
filter. I fixed some errors that I found, powered it up, and sure enough
it worked! It's a diode ladder design, but it's not a moog/ems/roland
clone, rather a Sallen and Key filter. The sound? It has that sproingy
resonance found on EMS synths, I guess because of the diodes, but it's also
got that odd dull sound found in the MS10 and 20. So... believe it or not,
it's a cross between an Synthi and an MS10 VCF. Absolutely delicious!!!
Back to tweaking!

ABSTRACT: Synaesthesia (one sense triggering another) has recently become
amenable to scientific investigation. Recent findings are reviewed. Maurer's
developmental theory of synaesthesia is then discussed. The theory states
that all human neonates have synaesthesia, but that by about 4 months of age
the senses have become modularized to the extent that we no longer have
synaesthesia.
