Hi people,
WRT the massive thread going on about op-amps......can we get real here for
a second guys, nearly everything is better in the audio path than a 301.
Replace the audio path stuff with TL071's and if they've got FET buffers in
the S+H stages replace them with TL071's too. It'll be like having a new
synth, esoteric op-amps ie anything that costs more than a dollar if you buy
25 of them isn't really worth the expense unless you need audiophile
quality, and the 2600 was designed down to a price, not up to audiophile
standards......

Formant trannies....I have a couple of UA726C's spare. They're military
spec, I want about 50 UKP each for them, or I'll haggle to get some CEM ADSR
chips, the 3310 I think. The BC107C, 109C etc can all be replaced directly
by the BC547C and 549C, the 177 and 179 with 557 and 559 equivalents. The C
rating refers to the hfe of the tranny, and basically means high. I've got
loads, as I had to buy a MOV from the only place in UK that listed them when
I was building Formant stuff. That said they were very cheap, like less than
5 cents a throw, I got over a thousand trannies for the MOV of thirty UKP.
You should be able to replace these fairly easy, they're just the favourite
tranny of the guy who designed it, most Elektor circuitry takes just about
anything, their designers weren't allowed to make designs that were device
performance specific unless it was a special chip, and there ain't nothing
special about the 107/109 etc

Digisound VCDO EPROM's and PCB's for Waveform Multiplier......... If you
want a VCDO EPROM, I can do a copy for you, as I have several. Send me the
2716 and I'll send you the blown one. I have access to a copier, but not a
programmer at the moment, so someone else can get them up. I'll be scanning
up the ETI WM soon anyway. If you want to hang on it should be ready for FTP
soon. If someone with space can give me a postal address to send this stuff
to I'll start getting it out. If you want PCB's I can make them for you,
we'd have to haggle over the price though.
