There has been a long, long thread (actually "thread*s*") on this over on
Analog Heaven, and DIY isn't really the place for it.

I'll tell you the short form... I have a buddy that put a deposit down on a
new Mini in August (?) '96, and started asking for it back in December. He
got the check in January, deposited it, and it bounced. He's supposed to be
getting a Visa credit today.

If you want to know more, and with a lot of my personal flaming biases of
