I wasn't annoyed until you replied to my private email on a public maillist.
This is generally considered to be in bad taste. People on the list who
aren't privy to my email to you are now saying "huh?". It's like listening
to one side of a phone conversation - you're never quite sure what's really
been said by the other person.

I like the 303, but I only paid US$100 for mine, which is about what it's
worth to me. I'm sick of discussions about it, though, as are many others.

The basis of my reply was to point out that this is a dead horse that's been
flogged many, many times, and that with a little bit of digging in the AH
archives (www.hyperreal.com), you can find lots of discussion on diode
ladder behavior. Pay close attention to anything written by Juergen Haible
- he's tha man! After you've read that, if you feel that you have something
NEW to say, by all means say it. I'm just jaded on the whole thing, that's all.

This situation brings up a problem w/ maillists - people who've read a
maillist for 3 or 4 years get sick of the sysyphusian cycle of newcomers to
the list wanting to discuss what has been discussed over and over and over
and over again. I can't fault you for wanting to discuss diode ladders, but
at the same time I can't stomach another discussion myself.

That doesn't make it unavailable - just call up Roland and order some.

MCM Electronics in the US had every single Jap tranny in the 303 circuit
when I ordered them a couple of years ago. They specialize in VCR parts and
have a lot of Japanese stuff. 1-800-543-4330 (US).

My hat's off to you on that, mate!

And for that, I and other oldtimers thank you!
