Just picked up a nifty new toy.
The Radio Shack "ScopeProbe" is designed like a logic probe but has a
little LCD display on the side which will show waveforms.
It also attaches to a windows based PC and you can download waveforms
and store them.
Lists at $99.95 but currently on sale for $79.95 (at least in my area).
Comments: Very cute design. Menus are selected by a two button system.
Checked it back to back against my Philips and time base and voltage
calibrations are right on. It has a six bit (128 level) flash A/D good they
say to 5 Mhz. Sample times are from 50ns/sample to 10ms/sample.
Wish it went lower so I could record envelopes. This seems like a
prime piece for some hacking. The help file gives data packet description.
This could be used to digitize and store control voltages.
It currently only stores waveforms in it's own native format with no
export options (aside from Hijack of course). I'm going to crack it
open and have a look inside, will report further. This looks like a perfect
tool to exchange reference waveform data with.
