To buy or not to buy... Advice on defective OB8 needed!

OB-8's are notorious for having the bridge rectifier go out (in the +5volt
supply).  I have seen this happen several different OB-8's.   The replacement
part is readily available and costs only about $2 or $3 (USD).  If that's all
that is wrong, it would be a great deal.
