Also - I want to find out if anybody has a high-performance discreet
VCA design. I'd like to know if there is a design that uses
easy-to-get parts, and would be something that a modular synthesizer
power-user would welcome into his system. You know, wide dynamic
range, ultra-low noise specs, things like that. Any help there?
Y'know, I'm really surprised there isn't one available commercially.
I would think there'd be a huge market for such a thing. Just as an
uptown alternative to a volume pedal.
I often want a master volume pedal for guitar or keyboard playing.
It's gotta be stereo, it's got to be medium impedance (10k ohms), and
it's got to be built like a tank (like the Ernie Balls). A VCA is a
big win because you can have it rack-mounted so the controls are
reachable and you can have one DC line to the pedal instead of four
audio cables.
