Ok, this is probably a simple one to answer, I just have no
education in these matters and I don't want to blow my box up. :) I have
successfully added filter CV and Audio ins, plus FM from any VCO waveform
selectable with a 6 pos. rotary switch and level'd with a 100k pot.. Now
I want to expand the LFO speed range. Here's what the schematics say:
The power into the 100k pot for Rate is run through a 150k
resistor. Now.. I want to change the resistor to 75k, and add another
100k pot in series with that, so I can change the resistance from 75k to
175k, thus increasing the range of the LFO, right? (more power at 75k =
faster LFO, less power at 175k = slower LFO, no?) Now.. will this blow up
my 202? In theory how much of an effect will this haveon the rate? Is it
possible that increasing the range like this will cause the LFO not to
oscillate, I mean, did Roland set this range arbitrarily or due to some
limit in the opamps? Someone, Help! This beast is so fun to modify, I
must do weird things to it! Argh! (Gotta love surface mounting 13mm
mini-pots! :) )
