Hi All,
Many thanks for the mention Josh, still no news from Per I'm afraid,
maybe he hasn't accessed for a while. Next up should hopefully be The
Arp sequencer manual, I've just been sent some Prophet 2000 stuff
which explains why a 12-bit sampler should sound so good, it had
analogue VCF/VCA/EG chips following each DAC! I'm now on the low-level
lookout for a P2000 to strip for bits, at least to have a look, they
only fetch a couple of hundred pounds, eight VCF's. eight VCA's and
sixteen EG's is worth more than that to me. They are almost certainly
SSM devices (might be more than one per channel though because of the
big tie-up between SSM and SCI. Also soon, hope I get a chance to
sneak into work next week and do some serious scanning in the
evenings, I've got the Moog 15/35/55 manuals, you can see for yourself
what kind of madman my friend Paul is. BTW he's got most of his
replica running now, some tething troubles, but not too serious....
Would anyone be interested in a Vocoder design that is still
buildable, cos I've got the Elektor one. You get to build a lot of
boards for it, like ten for the channels, an output board, a PSU, and
two backplanes, but it works, it sounds pretty good, or at least mine
does when it's working, and if you build it properly *mine was my
first big thing so it's a bit cranky*, it's pretty reliable. I at ll do
it if there's interest. There should also be a re-laid version of the
Elektor Midi-CV converter. Really basic, note and gate, but my version
is easier to do with home etch equipment, and also incorporates an
option for a +/-12 to +/-15V PSU as well as the single-sided 12V it
originally ran on. Running bipolar means you can use something other
than the TL061 they used on the output, like an '071 or an '081 or
something else with some drive,...
Feedback wanted on-list or to me over what next for Red Cross
     parcel to Josh <g>
