It occured to me after I posted the first notice that it would be most useful if I had a list of the synths the CEM parts were in , a la:
Model Chip How Many
SSM info would also help. I also know those designers as well. I can contact them. Any CEM vs SSM input would help Doug and I in the redesign (now's your chance for new input!).
Also, I will gladly pay for readable service manuals for the above synths (no I'm NOT going into the repair business).
Doug didn't keep track to this detail. But I'm sure all you folks can help.
Also, for you repair people:
How often to the CEM chips fail? Doug indicated that
a) there are about 3 million TOTAL of all CEM chips out there
b) he has no idea if some chips seem to fail more or
c) some synths seem to fail more than others
I wish to provide chips for both DIY and to keep the old gear alive. Believe me, it's NOT for the money.
FYI, in order for me to recover the mask and redesign charges, I will need to sell about 350 chips, roughly.
