   More generally, if you have a star of resistors R1....Rn connected to
   voltages V1....Vn, is there a general formula for the voltage at the middle
   of the star?

If "Rpn" means the parallel combination of all the resistors *except*
Rn, then:

  Vout = V1 Rp1/(R1+Rp1) + V2 Rp2/(R2+Rp2) + ...

For the simplest case, V1 = Vinput, V2 = zero, it reduces to the
classic equation.
