why V/oct?

You can get linear VCO's to track at any interval.  Unfortunately you can't add a voltage offset, you need to multiply one of 
the control voltages by the constant required to obtain the correct interval eg: 2.0*Vc would tune the oscillator an octave 
above and 0.5*Vc would tune it an octave below.
