Overriding MIDI and a (possibly screwy) Idea

Ehmmm, the recording head of the tape deck ain't gone like that!!!
Audio-signals are small AC-signals. 
If you fed a DC-signal to a recorder there may be:

A) no signal recorded because of the DC-discoupling cap on the input of the
recording pre-amplifier.
B) if this cap is not present and the DC-signal is big enough and slow
enough, there may be caused damage to the recording head. A coil (the head)
on DC-voltage isn't such a good thing

So you must at least attenuate the signal and if you've no luck that day,
there will be a DC-stop on the input

Other possibilities is to record audio-signals. Then fed recorded signals to
a LP-filter so that you substract a ground-frequency wich is slow enough.
The only problem is, how to control this.
