Tempco's

In keeping up with the list, I got a couple of TempCo resistor's (1K,
Farnell 143-584, from Newark Elect.). Now-these seem to be Negative Temp
Coef. because when I chilled them, resistance increased; heated
them-resistance decreased. Is this right or do I have the theory
backwards? When I used it in my SSM2030 VCO, it worked OK at room
temperature; but upon opening my window and letting the cold air in,
tracking went off again until it heated up.
Are these Farnell tempco's the right part for the job?
