Call for Schematic Sources

Hi, all; this is my first post to the list - what a great environment!
I have just gotten aho;d of a buttload of chips and discrete components
from our radio station. From the looks of things, the listener who
donated the stuff was working on an intelligent music machine of some
type - card cage, a single-board computer, lots of converters and op amps,
and a 68030, along with about 30 rails of CMOS and sockets.
Anyhow, I am now looking for a project. My idea of the ideal synth has
always been closely related to the PAiA 4700/S modular I built back in
high school. And so, I am looking for schematics, PC patterns, etc. for
a similarly scoped system, and lo and behold, here;s this mailing list.
With the above in mind, would any of you have recommendations for
sources for construction info? Really, I'd like to start out with a set
of 4700-module schematics and go from there, but all I've been able to
find is the simultaneous-waveform VCO, so far. Also, I sav VC-res filters
out there, so improvements are definitely wanted. If anyone has a set of
these old PAiA manuals, purchasing a set of copies is probably a good
place for me to start.
However, I would definitely appreciate pointers to everyone's idea of
yjeir favorite circuit for possible `modulization'- timbre modulators,
harmonic generators, VC analog delays, etc.
Any info you could provide will be compiled and eventually prioritized
and constructed. Perhaps this could be seen as an opportunity to derive
the ófficial synth-diy module complement', if such a thing could ever
be claimed. I need schematics, principally, and other ancillary info
where available; I am only marginally skilled in cobbling together
incompatible designs, so I should probably choose a spec to try to
adhere to - linear 1v/oct is what I'm most familiar with, but suggestions
are solicited here as well.
I have a netscape 3 gold on a 486 laptop, so the web is available as a
source.. any URL's you see fit to mention, I can look at.
any respondents should e-mail me at:

and I'll be keeping a digest of the results for later dissemination upon
request.
Also, what is a Formant synth, an ASM-1, and what other projects are
out there? Everyone seems to be familiar with these already, and I would
like to catch up...!
                                         Thanks in advance,
                                             Charles 'Mark' Bee

  Ensoniq EPS/Korg Mono-Poly/Digitech TSR-12/Vesta Fire/Electric Kazoo
     + mixers, EQ's, stomp boxes, A3000 w/Bars & Pipes Pro, etc. etc.

P.S. Modules I definitely want so far...

VCO w/ tri, saw, sine, PWM VCF w/ freq, res vc, simul. l,b,hp
    Multiple VCA VC Ring Modulator
VC LFO w/ simult. waves as in VCO Top-octave pitch rider harmonizer
octaver w/ built-in LPF Analog delay with VC speed, regen
2x4 Mixer Rotary switch slew capacitor array
    etc. etc. etc.

One very powerful scheme might be to use simple square-wave VCO's
to drive octaver and top-octave chip harmonizers, then send it to
multiple versatile waveform converters which could even be lookup-table
boxes or hardware FM sets.. ???
