I vote for nice cermet pots. Don't know of any slide pots with
cermet elements, though.
Mouser has cute little rotary cermet pots (Spectrol) that panel-mount
and have right-angle PCB pins, which look long enough to
bend 90 degrees and mount flat on a PCB. Their part #
594-249-xxxx series, on p. 192 of the current catalog. $3.92
each in quantities of 25. Can even get them with 1/8" or
1/4" shafts.
What about Mouser 312-9600-100K? It's claimed to be a "high-grade"
slide pot. Kind of expensive ($7.26 in 25 qty).
These pots will work just fine with HV tube circuits. Yes, I tried
some. ;-)
Paul, don't forget, I could use a panel for that amplifier prototype. We
just got some of those 3 1/2" 2-way coaxial speakers.
