......ah, embarassingly enough the answer was in the archives..

but the note, by Gene Stopp, is a little too cryptic for me..
and there is no exact reference, just 'Electronotes, early 70s'
which period I do not have....
so if anyone has something more to say on this, I would appreciate it..
The Electronotes ckt was an attempt to make a fairly flash kind of osc
with matched transistors and all.... all I want is a very wide range osc
which is approx 0.5 v per oct or something...
